Gideon's Birthday

Since we have been here he have celebrated 4 birthdays which have included great meals and delicious birthday cakes.  I didn't take pictures of food in Gideon's case but it was a fantastic Lebanese meal that covered the table.  We over ate again and had lots of left overs we continued to enjoy.  Gideon wanted Chocolate Lava cakes so we each had our own individual delicious cake.  Then at Church a lady wanted us to come over for an authentic Bedouin meal.  When she found out we were leaving in two days she said then I will make it tomorrow and bring to you.  She got up at 5 AM to slaughter a lamb to make the meal which is shown in the picture.  She delivered the meal at one this afternoon and Oh what a meal.  The big platter at the top of the pictured is rice with vegetables, lamb, raisins and spices. The salad which looks mostly green from the top is cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, mint and other greens which she said comes from the Bedouin growing area.  The stew is lamb and vegetables with dried lemons (the four dark circles).  The bread is flat bread.  All I can say is we have enjoyed so much good food from Indian, to Lebanese, to Kuwaiti, to Bedouin along with American that I need to buy new clothes or quit eating.  The food has been fantastic to say the least.
