The Christus in The Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen

After arriving in Copenhagen Monday all of the Icelandic missionaries went to see the Christus in The Church of Our Lady. Outside the church is a statue of Moses holding the Ten Commandments and inside is Jesus Christ at the front of the church with the 12 Apostles at each of the columns lining both side of the church. The statues are all quite impressive and it was great to see the original Christus as well as the statue of Peter holding the keys of the Priesthood that President Kimball talked about when visiting the church.

What is the size of the Christus? Is it much larger than the one in SLC?

Difficult to say as you are kept far back from it. It seems smaller though. Everyone thinks the original is much smaller, but you are just too far from it to tell. I did research and based on what I found the original is 11 feet tall and the Temple Square copy is 11 ft 1 inch. I think it is safe to say they are the same size. The Church had had many copies made for visitor centers that are 8 ft tall. There is one in the chapel near the Copenhagen Temple that is 8 ft tall. We are blessed to be able to get up close to the original size one on Temple Square.
