This evening I had the opportunity to put lights up on the Mesa Temple grounds. Our Ward was assigned the trees around the reflecting pool. The assignment was from 5 PM to 9:30 PM. We had more individuals show than needed for the tree project as there are only two lifts to get up into the trees. So I volunteered to work elsewhere and was assigned to work on the fences. That did not work that well as I couldn't use my gloves to tie the lights to the fence. The lights had to be tied tight to make them stand up straight and perpendicular to the fence (this was absolutely necessary). They turned the lights on in the areas we were working and it was amazing to see what has already been done.
The lights I am holding are to represent chili peppers hanging in the trees. I thought I would take a picture of what I was working on and some of the other lights in the area but they turned off the lights just after I took the first picture. I do think the chili peppers are what you see lit in the bigger tree. The other pictures just give a little idea of the amount of work that goes into the Christmas lights. We are looking forward to seeing the grounds when they are completed.

I promise it will be worth it. Although the year Doug got a pretty nasty shock he wasn't so sure about it.
I wish we were there! Hope your hands are ok!!
